Biggie Smalls was announced to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in May of this year. His fellow inductees include superstars such as Whitney Huston, Motörhead, and Judas Priest.

Smalls’ career was short-lived but he made a tremendous impact on hip-hop and the music industry as a whole with the time he had. He only released one studio album before his death at the age of 24 in 1997. There were three posthumous studio albums released of his work.

Some of his biggest hits include, “Juicy” and “Hypnotize.” “Juicy” details the struggles of Biggie’s younger years growing up in Brooklyn. “Hypnotize” is a hypnotic single where Smalls flaunts his flashy lifestyle and effortless flow.

Smalls is also credited with the popularization of the “Jesus Piece.” This is a piece of jewelry worn on a necklace that depicts Jesus Christ’s face with a crown of thorns, typically “iced out” with diamonds and stones of the like.

Furthermore, the Notorious B.I.G. influenced many others that came after him in the world of hip-hop and outside of it. He will now forever be commemorated for his achievements in the biggest Hall of Fame known to music today.
